Hospital practice is set to stay

NHS England has agreed to extend the contract for the Accrington Victoria Hospital GP practice until at least October 2015.

Last week the East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) announced it had agreed to extend the walk-in centre contract at the hospital to the same date.

Patrick McGinley, of the Patients Participation Group (PPG), said: “All members of the PPG are indebted to the Accrington Observer, our registered patients and the local communities for their active support in our campaign. We remain confident the practice will get a long-term contract next year. We also wish to thank our MP Graham Jones who has provided full and fair support to us.”
