Cannabis, suspected crack cocaine and amphetamines have been seized after police raided a house in Accrington.

Officers executed a warrant at an address on Rothwell Avenue at 11am on Tuesday, September 4 and discovered two large cannabis plants, cannabis bush and a large amount of powder – which is now being tested but is believed to be crack cocaine and amphetamine.

The raid came after members of the public highlighted concerns to police.

Community beat manager PC Rachel Pilkington said: "The plants were around 3.5ft high and were heavily budded. The powder, which was found in the fridge, has now been sent off for forensic analysis and enquiries are ongoing to find out who was responsible.

"We are committed to taking action to remove drugs from our communities and I urge residents to continue to come forward with information or suspicions about drugs in their neighbourhood."

Anyone with information about the house can contact the police on their non-emergency line, 101 – or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
