An Accrington man who died after the motorbike he was riding came off a road in Cumbria on Sunday, has been named.

Gary Shaun Roberts, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

Cumbria police said the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the incident which happened at around 2.45pm.

A section of the A683 between Kirkby Lonsdale and Sedbergh was closed for several hours.

Police are investigating what happened and have appealed for any witnesses to contact PC 1618 Marc Holmes of Kendal Road Policing Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
