The Bishop of Blackburn Julian Henderson paid a visit to St Nicholas CE Primary School in Church to help staff and pupils celebrate their new outdoor equipment including a Forest school and outdoor classroom, which provides learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment.
The bishop blessed the Forest school and pupils sang hymns.
Headteacher Mr Walker told pupils about Tony Martin, a former caretaker after whom the wood is named.
