More than 120 people visited Haworth Art Gallery for the launch of its Annual Open Exhibition.
The varied display has been created by nearly 70 artists from across the North West and beyond and includes portraits, landscapes, abstract work and installations.
Yvonne Robins, gallery coordinator, said they have a great mixture this year of regular exhibitors, new young talent and the ‘ever controversial’ Albert Biggar with his take on the ‘outrage of book burning’.
Exhibiting for the first time at the gallery is 18-year-old Luke Tomlinson.
The former Mount Carmel High School pupil has painted large bold canvases inspired by modern culture. Yvonne said: “It’s wonderful to see such a wide variety of artwork and refreshing to see local young people such as Luke Tomlinson taking part.
The exhibition runs until November 16.
