A STAR was born when baby Grace Robinson entered the world – and landed her first TV role at just four days old.
Grace is all set to appear in top soap Coronation Street, playing the newborn son of barmaid Violet Wilson, played by Jenny Platt, and surrogate dad Sean Tully, played by Antony Cotton.
Now two months old, Grace will make her debut on Monday night.
She will play a baby boy named Dylan who makes his entrance in the Rovers Return.
Grace’s real-life parents, Leana Darbyshire, 28, and Colin Robinson, 44, of Cliffe Lane, Great Harwood, are looking forward to seeing their daughter on screen even though she is playing a boy.
Leana said: "I have been a model for about nine years and the agency I work for knew I was pregnant. They contacted me and asked when I was due.
"I gave them the date, which would have been too late, but Grace came nine days early on 4 December.
"I called the agency back and took Grace in for an audition. She landed the job when she was only four days old."
Filming took place at the end of January and lasted two weeks.
Grace’s parents and big sister Charlotte Robinson, nine, all went along for the first day of filming.
Leana said: "Charlotte went around getting all the actors’ autographs. All of the cast were brilliant with Grace."
Grace’s part in the soap will be short-lived as Violet and her boyfriend Jamie Baldwin, played by Rupert Hill, are leaving the Street.
However, her parents are planning to record the show so she can watch it when she is older and they have set up a bank account for her Coron-ation Street earnings.
Leana said: "Grace is my first baby. She seems very content so I am very lucky."
* Watch Grace’s TV debut on ITV at 7.30pm on Monday.
