AFTER giving up all hope of a baby, Jane Moseley couldn't believe it when she discovered she was pregnant.
After a decade of trying, she and her husband felt her family was complete with two adopted children.
But after losing three-and-a-half stones in weight with a slimming club, she was stunned to find she was pregnant.
Now Jane, 36, takes baby Elliot along to her weekly Slimming World sessions at Enfield Cricket Club.
And a special guest at Elliot's christening was club consultant Janet Brown.
Jane, who lives in Norman Road, Oswaldtwistle, with husband Peter and adopted children Lee, four, and Stacey, three, fought a constant battle with her weight from the age of 22 when she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome.
In 1995 the couple went through fertility treatment without success, before deciding to adopt.
In June 2004, Jane joined Slimming World and became one of the most successful members in her group, dropping two dress sizes in six months.
Then in January 2005, she discovered she was pregnant.
Jane said: "I was so shocked that I did seven tests and took them all to the doctors. I didn't really believe it until I had a scan.
"We had tried everything to have a child and I felt our family was complete with Lee and Stacey.
"No-one had ever suggested my weight might be a problem when we were having treatment but it's the only thing I can think of that changed.
"I only went to Slimming World when a friend asked me to go along and keep her company but I stuck to it.
"I had tried other ways to lose weight but this was the only thing that had ever worked. Peter was very supportive.
"Since Elliot was born I have lost more than two stones of the weight I gained when I was pregnant. I take Elliot with me and I'll tell him the story when he grows up."
