CLAYTON Park Bakery has secured a deal which will see the Hyndburn- based business supplying the pies at Burnley Football Club's ground.
The company, based at Clayton Business Park, Clayton-le-Moors, will provide pies at Turf Moor for the coming season after its products won the seal of approval from supporters at a recent pie-tasting event at the club.
Fans were invited to try out the pies on offer from the various companies which wanted to supply the match day refreshments at Turf Moor.
And Clayton Park Bakery was the convincing winner in many of the categories, with over 200 fans sampling the pies.
The favourites which will be supplied include favourites such as steak, meat and potato and cheese and onion pies, as well as sausage rolls.
Catering manager Chris Gibson said: "We're delighted to have concluded a deal with Clayton Park Bakery, which was clearly the fans' favourite on the night. We look forward to working with the company over the coming seasons."
Barry Thomas, director of Clayton Park Bakery, said: "We are very happy to have reached a deal with Burnley Football Club and look forward to the future. As an up-and-coming local business, we also supply Everton FC in the Premiership and we are pleased to add the biggest local Championship club to that.
"We have provided pies on a daily basis in Burnley and Lancashire for a while and we are in the process of moving to new premises too, so its a great achievement for us as a family- based and locally-run business.
"Hopefully, over the next three years we should bring 20 jobs to the people of Hyndburn, and continue to expand our business. Myself and my partner, Stephen Whalley, started the business 11 years ago, and there was just the two of us. Now we have nearly 40 staff.
"We have a few Burnley fans on the staff already and I'm a general football fan myself. I'm now a Burnley fan and wish them all the best."
