Bar staff and regulars at an Accrington pub are organising a series of fundraisers for a veterans' charity.

The Boars Head is raising money for BLESMA, the national charity for ex-service men and women who have lost limbs in service of their country.

Barmaid Melanie Kiernan is doing a sponsored skydive with the pub's former landlord Billy Stewart on May 5.

Several other events organised by the pub will help to finance the jump as they bid to raise £5,000 for the charity.

Landlady Paula Prescott said the charity is close to the hearts of pub regulars Alex Montgomery, Paul McCarthy and Hugh Scott.

Paula, who took over the pub in October, said: "To raise funds for the jump we are doing a football match with staff and customers from the Boars Head at the end of March. We also have a raffle ongoing at the moment which we are running for about four weeks."

The pub is also holding a charity quiz night on April 27.
