A book share cafe is to be set up in Accrington to coincide with World Book Day.
Prospects will host the event at their environment centre on Broadway.
Barbara Sharples, activity organiser at the centre, said: “We are hosting the event to make people aware of the range and diversity of the environmental books that are available.
“We are currently building up our own library so that in future people from Hyndburn can drop in to the centre to use our reference library to look up something in one of our books whilst having a drink and a chat.“
“We would like people to donate books to our library and swap, lend, borrow or share others with someone else.
“We are only looking for books relating to the environment such as wildlife, birds, plants, permaculture, sewing, crafting, recycling etc. which are based around our six sustainable environment themes.”
Barbara said they are also on the lookout for DVDs on environmental subjects with plans under way to hold a film festival later in the year.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 1 between 10am and 4pm.
Prospects has also teamed up with Barefoot Books and ambassador Helen Dawson coming along between 11am and noon on the same day to read a story and lead an activity from the Happy Planet Range.
Helen said: “Children will learn the basics of how plants grow in this bubbly, springtime story.”
