A brazen thief ‘snatched’ around £10,000 from two employees before fleeing in a car.

Police said they were called to Rising Bridge Business and Enterprise Village on Blackburn Road after the theft was reported outside the Safestyle UK office.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “Two people have come to the unit to hand out wages and somebody sat in a Ford car was outside waiting for them.

“As the two people have gone up to the front doors of the office carrying the wage envelopes a man has got out of the car and rushed up to them and snatched them.

“It is believed in the region of around £10,000 was stolen.”

Police said the staff tried to run after the thief, however he got into the car and fled the scene.

The incident happened at around 9.45am on Saturday, February 6.
