Mobile phones and jewellery worth over £1,000 have be stolen from a house in Huncoat.

Thieves raided the premises on Burnley Road after breaking in through the first floor window while the occupants were sleeping.

The incident happened between 9pm and 10pm on Friday, April 22.

Sgt Simon Holderness, of Accrington Police Station, said: “The thieves have gone in through the first floor window which was possibly left open.

“They stole some mobile phones and jewellery before leaving at the same point of entry.”

The thieves escaped with an iPod touch worth £180, a iPhone 3GS worth £190, a Blackberry Curve phone worth £180 and a bracelet worth £500.
