A WOMAN was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital with a minor finger injury after a bus swerved to avoid a pedestrian and collided with two cars.

The pedestrian stepped out into the road at the junction of Whalley Road and Knowlmere Street in Accrington at around 3pm last Thursday.

The driver, who was on the Hyndburn circular route, managed to miss the pedestrian but hit a Volvo and Peugeot 607.

Police, paramedics and the fire service were called to the scene because of fears that one of the drivers could not get out of their car but eventually they walked free unaided.
