OUR Aspire appeal won praise at the last meeting of Hyndburn Council’s Cabinet.
Council leader Peter Britcliffe said: "I would like to thank the Observer for doing an excellent job with its Accrington Pals appeal and I believe the appeal is well on the way towards reaching its target.
"It just goes to show what can be done when members of the community get together to support a worthy cause."
Councillor Pam Barton added: "I think the appeal is an excellent idea and the Observer is doing an excellent job."
