This is the touching moment a ‘celebrity-mad’ fan was handed a football winner’s trophy after a charity match.
Zack Kerr, of Howard Close, Accrington, watched the Soccer Aid 2016 game at Old Trafford with his mum Kristianne, her partner Ceri and younger brother Connor.
And the 20-year-old was overjoyed when, at the end of the match, actor and TV game show host Bradley Walsh walked into the crowd and handed him his medal.
Kristianne said: “Zack is ‘celebrity-mad’. That is the reason we went.
“At the end when the players were collecting their medals Bradley Walsh came up into the crowd and gave Zack his medal and a kiss and a hug.
“He said to him ‘you deserve this more’. It was absolutely lovely. Zack is still buzzing now. He’s still not taken the medal off.”
The match raised over £5.4m for charity.
The former Broadfield Specialist School pupil suffered complications when he was less than a year old and was left with brain damage, cerebral palsy and other health problems.
