ACCRINGTON Stanley's new cheerleading troupe, The Angels, made their debut on Monday night.

And they and the fans certainly had plenty to cheer about.

For a momentous weekend, with victories at Gravesend and at home to Morecambe, saw the cock-a-hoop Reds move 13 points clear at the top of the Nationwide Conference.

Only a monumental collapse can now stop them regaining the Football League place they famously lost 44 years ago.

The Observer, which has followed Stanley through thick and thin, bad times as well as good, is backing the promotion push with a host of initiatives.

Our photographer will be taking pictures of the crowd at the home game against Burton Albion tomorrow and three fans whose faces are circled will win £12 to cover the cost of admission.

In addition we are offering cash prizes for readers' memories of the old Stanley to include in a special supplement being produced next week to mark the anniversary of their resignation from the League on 6 March 1962.
