Church have won the Moorhouse’s T20 competition for the second time after beating Todmorden by 11 runs at Centre Vale.

Church won the toss and elected to bat. Professional Zain Abbas top scored with 33, while man of the match Jack Gaskill added 23 and Sam Holt 18 as Church posted 118-7 off 20 overs.

Hamza Ali (2-17) and Graeme Lalor (2-23) both took two wickets.

In reply, Jack Gaskill took 3-24 as Church bowled out Todmorden for 107 in 20 overs.

Zain Abbas picked up 2-17 and claimed the key wicket of professional Ashton Turner (4), w

hich created trouble in the middle as the Western Australian refused to walk as he thought that the ball didn’t carry into the hands of Jack Gaskill.

Former Todmorden player Bilal Abbas took 2-14 on his return to Centre Vale while Kamran Basharat took 2-14.

Todmorden had slipped to 79-9 before Graeme Lalor top scored with 25, as he added 28 with Hamza Ali 5 not out.

Lalor added a bit of hope back into Todmorden as he hit three fours of Levi Wolfenden in the 19th over.

However, Zain Abbas bowled a perfect last over to restrict Todmorden and had Lalor stumped on the final bowl of the over which gave the West End team their second T20 trophy.
