TWO of the players caught up in the betting scandal look set to be sacked by their current club.
Steps have been taken by Chester City to look into releasing former Stanley players Jay Harris and David Mannix, who have both been suspended from playing football for a year and 10 months respectively.
Bob Gray, Chester City’s managing director, said: "They have to go and it is as simple as that as we cannot condone players betting on their own team to get beat.
"We’re taking the right steps through our solicitors and they will get what they deserve. If it’s a sackable offence, we will sack them."
