A Huncoat football team is seeking new members as it celebrates its 30th season.

Huncoat United Junior FC is seeking players for the new season after three decades of junior football.

Jim Pye, of the club, said they were looking forward to the junior presentation evening in the coming weeks.

He added: “As we come to the end of another great season at Huncoat United the committee would like to thank all members, players, parents, sponsors and those who help with the teams for their assistance over the last season.

“We have a number of teams throughout the age groups all with qualified coaches to support the children and help them develop not only their football skills but also social skills as they interact with other players and teams, learning how to work with others and tackle the challenges in front of them in the right manner.

“The social side plays an important part of life at Huncoat and over the last season our teams have enjoyed events on match days at Accrington Stanley, Blackburn Rovers and Burnley along with numerous team events organised by managers.

“All children are welcome to come along and join the club so if you have a boy or girl interesting in joining one of our sides please contact us either through the website, on Facebook or twitter.”

He said the club had exciting events planned for the new season including entering a float at Accrington Carnival and holding a Halloween disco and a Christmas party.

Jim added there were also plans in motion to further develop the club which would be announced in due course.
