A DAD suspected of starting a fire which killed his wife and four daughters has died in hospital.
Police launched a murder probe after the tragedy at a terraced house in Tremellen Street, Accrington, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
They said their "main line of inquiry" was to speak to someone who was in the house at the time.
Mohammed Riaz, 49, was pulled from the house by firefighters suffering from severe burns and smoke inhalation and taken to Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.
But he died of his injuries two days later, and police now say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the fire.
His wife Caneze, 39, a well-known community worker, perished in the blaze along with her daughters Sayrah, 16, Sophia, 15, Alicia, 10, and Hannah, three.
Their brother Adam, 17, was told of the tragedy in Christie Hospital, Manchester, where he is being treated for leukaemia.
Police revealed at a press conference that fires had been started in several parts of the house and a flammable substance had been used.
The town's Asian community was stunned by the tragedy and tributes to the family poured in.
