ONE of Hyndburn’s most eligible dads is still on the lookout for the perfect woman.
Johnny Berthol, 41, of Mill Street, Church, appeared on morning television in search of a partner after his 12-year-old daughter, Pepsi, sent a letter to LK Today telling the company all about him for its Date my Dad show.
The divorcee was interviewed by presenter Lorraine Kelly and warned any eligible ladies that they were in for a "roller coaster of emotions" if they dated him.
But 9,742 women were undeterred and applied to go on a date with the social services worker.
Producers chose 38-year-old Louise from Liverpool and last Thursday the two enjoyed a night out in Manchester.
Johnny said: "We went on a cocktail-making course at the Hard Rock Cafe. I tried to be like Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktail but when I shook the Martini tumbler I ended up spilling it on my date."
The two then enjoyed a meal at one of Manchester’s top restaurants where Johnny ordered a £90 plate of sausage and mash.
As their entire date was being filmed, Johnny had to be on his best behaviour but he did manage a cheeky squeeze of his date’s bum.
Johnny said: "The producers were yelling ‘cut’ as I did it."
Unfortunately, Johnny decided Louise wasn’t the woman for him so there was no goodnight kiss in the lobby of the luxury Manchester hotel where they stayed.
And there was more disappointment this week when Johnny was contacted by LK Today and told that his date would not be aired.
Now he has turned his attention to our Hyndburn Honeys.
He said: "I would be over the moon if one of those lovely girls would give me a date."
- If any of our Honeys would like to take him up on his offer we would be delighted to put them in touch through our Newsdesk on 871444.
