Dance school members from Rishton are set for two ‘experiences of a lifetime’ to Disneyland Paris and Twickenham.

Youngsters from KTZ Dance will take part in a dance festival in France in March before performing at half-time during the England against Ireland

rugby match in September.

Katie Readman, dance school owner, said it was a ‘fantastic opportunity’ for the members to show off their skills.

The competition at Disneyland Paris will involve 27 children aged eight to 18 from the club who will compete in three sections – junior, intermediate and senior.

Each group will perform three dance routines before the entire school takes part in a 10-minute ‘showcase’.

Katie, 30, from Rishton, said the children have been rehearsing ‘very hard’ since September and ‘deserve the opportunity’.

She said: “They are veryexcited to be going over there. They have been putting in a lot of hours of rehearsal. They are training twice a week and

then again on another day every other week.

Katie, who set up the school two years ago, said the trip will last four days.

She said: “We are all going to be piling down to London and then getting the Eurostar to Disneyland Paris. They will also get to have two full days in the park. It’s a fantastic opportunity as we are not the biggest club in comparison to others and are from a small town.”

Katie said rehearsals will begin next summer for the Twickenham trip which will involve 80 dancers.

She said: “We are hoping to get as many from my school and maybe join up with another one. It’s a massive event and to perform in front of that many people.

Those experiences don’t come around very often.”

The club is based at the Riverside Industrial Estate and has more than 100 members aged two to over 60.
