TEENAGE singing sensation Diana Vickers‘ dream of winning The X Factor were shattered she was booted off the show.
The 17-year-old Accrington girl received the lowest number of votes of the four remaining acts and was kicked off the competition in Saturday night’s semi-final.
Diana sang Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend and Dido’s White Flag, and received positive feedback from the judges.
Following Girlfriend, judge Louis Walsh said: "After last week’s performance you needed to pull something out of the bag tonight and you know what, you did. That was fantastic."
Danni Minogue added: "Diana that was reminiscent of a young Debbie Harry. That performance has the X Factor."
After White Flag, Simon Cowell said: "I preferred the first song if I am being honest with you. It’s not my favourite song in the world because it does not have the big moment. Having said that, I think you sang the last half of it very, very well."
After being told she had been eliminated, Diana attempted to sing White Flag again but could not get through the final chorus as the three final acts, led by Eoghan Quigg, surrounded and hugged her.
