AN EMOTIONAL Diana Vickers was delighted to make it through to the semi-final of this year’s X Factor talent contest.
On Saturday, the 17-year-old from Accrington performed Britney Spears’ 'I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman' and REM’s 'Everybody Hurts' barefoot.
Following her first song, TV’s Mr Nasty Simon Cowell added: “For some reason, it didn’t work.”
However, judges warmed to her second performance, with Louis Walsh adding: “I much prefer your second song to the first, but I still think Ruth and Alexandra have the edge on you.”
The contestants sang some of Britney’s biggest hits as the awkward looking pop princess herself returned to the stage to sing her new single Womanizer.
Spanish singer Ruth was the latest to be given the boot from the show, leaving JLS, Eoghan Quigg, Diana Vickers and current favourite Alexandra Burke to battle it out.
