THIS is one of the first entrants in our terrific Face of Spex competition. And if you look cool in specs or sexy in sunglasses we are giving you one last chance to enter. Up for grabs are prizes including £250 in cash and an introduction to a modelling agency.

Lots of people have entered so far and more are booked for sessions this week.

But our photographer, Reg Whittam of the Garth Dawson Studio on Bridge Street, Accrington, has arranged one more special sitting from 4pm to 6pm next Thursday.

To book yourself in and join our great contest, just give him a ring on 231802.

We are looking for the Face of Spex 2006 in conjunction with Spex opticians but the competition is NOT just open to people who regularly wear glasses.

Buy, beg or borrow a pair or just don those sultry shades to have your picture taken.

Sittings will only take a couple of minutes but children under 18 must have parental consent to enter the competition and must be accompanied to the studio by an adult.

All pictures will be printed in the Observer and copies can be bought from the Garth Dawson Studio.

There will provisionally be four categories - under-18s, 18-to-30s, over-30s and sexy sunspecs wearers of all ages. All entrants must live within the Hyndburn boundary.

The winner of each category will receive a £100 Spex voucher or a pair of designer sunglasses, and photographs to the value of £65.

The overall winner will get £250, an introduction to a top modelling agency, a photographic portfolio and a framed portrait worth £300.

And, as a fantastic bonus the finalists will also go forward to a grand regional final in 2007 when the winner of a £1,000 top prize will be announced at the Spex celebrity awards in the heart of Manchester city centre.

So pick up that phone today and ring 231802. The call could win you loads of cash and open up a modelling career.
