A 39-year-old man has admitted causing the death of a Burnley teenager by dangerous driving.

Patrick Connolly pleaded guilty today on the day he had been due to face a trial at Preston Crown Court.

The defendant of Downham Drive, Accrington admitted driving a vehicle dangerously on Blackburn Road, Clayton-le-Moors in September 2008.

The teenager who died was 19 year-old Andrew Taylor, a former Gawthorpe High School pupil, who was a front seat car passenger.

The case has been adjourned to September 23 for sentencing. The defendant was remanded on bail by Judge Heather Lloyd.
