ACCRINGTON'S newest nightspot, Club Eclectic, will be throwing open its doors with an exclusive party next week.

The former Eclipse Club in Willow Street was originally the home of the Accrington Arts Club, and first opened in 1982 as the £1m nightspot Lar-de-dars.

It was later renamed Eclipse but closed down two years ago due to dwindling numbers of customers.

The building, which has been refurbished by new owners Kristan Dewell, Adam McEvoy, and Gaelle, Rob and Cath Graham, now boasts three rooms including a new cocktail lounge and bistro.

The group of friends decided to take over the club because they were fed up of having to travel out of Accrington for a night on the tiles.

The gang set up their own business, Party on Lancs Ltd, and made a deal with the club's owners, Preston-based Rammdesigns, to take over the lease for a year.

They will officially unveil their new-look pub with a private party on Friday before opening to Hyndburn's clubbers with a dance night on Saturday.

The doors open at 9pm and the entrance fee (£3 before 11pm; £4 after 11pm) is payable on the door.

The owners are currently interviewing staff for the club.
