An elderly woman was escorted from her flat by a care worker after it filled with smoke last night.
It is not known what caused the flat in Merlin Court, Oswaldtwistle, to become smoke-logged.
A spokesman for Hyndburn Fire Station said: "The elderly lady lives in the sheltered accommodation and fortunately got out. She suffered smoke inhalation and was treated by paramedics. We used fans to get rid of the smoke."
The incident happened at 8.10pm on Wednesday, January 18.
