A HYNDBURN estate agency has defied the gloomy housing market by scooping three prestigious gold industry awards.
Buy the House, which has branches in Accrington and Oswaldtwistle, was named best estate agent in Lancashire for the fourth time in the Daily Mail UK Property Awards.
And its overseas property arm, Buy the Villa, has also won two European property gongs at the same awards, after being named the Best Real Estate Agency for both Turkey and Bulgaria.
Lesley Swinn, Buy the House director, explained: “We have been selling property abroad since 2003. We originally started with Spain and now we have access to over 20 countries, but we particularly target Bulgaria and Turkey. The bulk of the properties in those areas are under £50,000.”
In order to win the award, entrants had to provide evidence such as the growth of company services, staff training and standards and marketing.
Lesley added: “It’s been a very difficult year but we’re not letting it be all doom and gloom. We want our customers to see that we’re very proud of the business still and look at taking it forward with new initiatives and innovations.”
