Fifteen firefighters tackled a flat fire in Rishton this morning.

Crews were called to Bridge House apartments on High Street shortly before 1am after a pan was left on a hob.

John Taylor, of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, said the blaze caused light smoke damage to the flat and two adjacent flats.

He added: "Whoever was in when the pan caught fire got out. The pan had been left on the hob and it created a lot of smoke."
