Firefighters were called to a house in Clayton-le-Moors after a fire broke out inside a cooker.

The incident happened at a house on William Street shortly after 1am this morning.

Crews from Hyndburn attended the scene however the fire was out on arrival.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the fire is believed to have started after oil at the bottom of the cooker ignited.

The fire caused minor smoke damage and no injuries were reported.
