COLLEAGUES of Marie Hartley, the Oswaldtwistle mum-of-two who died in the London bombing on 7 July last year, have beaten their target to raise £10,000 in her memory.

Marie's husband, David, of White Ash Lane, Oswaldtwistle, her two sons Liam, eight, and Adam, two, and her parents John and Barbara Targett attended a fund-raising day at her workplace, Hambledon Studios in Burnley, at the weekend.

The fun day, which included a birds of prey display, stalls, raffles, games, a big barbecue and a balloon race, raised £1,500 and attracted over 300 visitors.

Staff have already raised £10,000 for the Marie Hartley Foundation, through a Three Peaks challenge and a works party, which will be held in trust for her sons.
