Pupils at Norden High School in Rishton had to embark on a rescue mission after returning from the summer holidays.

Science teacher Mrs Moorhouse discovered that frogs had spawned underneath an area of the Stourton Street school and many frogs needed help relocating to a more ‘suitable habitat’.

Members of the school’s Green Team, including Ella Barton, Millie Mayor, Nikita Brooke, Finley Harrington and Bethany Driver, rallied round and spent their lunch and break times rescuing the frogs and moving them to a better home.

Claire Munroe, administrator at Norden High, said: “The students would really appreciate any help or advice from any local frog experts so that we can take care of them and monitor their growth and development.

“Anyone who could offer some advice is asked to contact Mrs Moorhouse via the school office on 01254 885378.”
