There are lots of events going on around Accrington this weekend.
The Armed Forces Family Fun day is on Saturday at Gatty Park in Church and will be officially opened by the Mayor at 12.30pm.
The free fun day will run from 1pm to 4pm and includes a poppy picnic, stalls, children’s games, arts and crafts, music and a bowling competition.
The Parlour@Elmfield Café will also be open to customers.
Donations will go towards Byng House in Southport, which is run by the Royal British Legion and provides well earned breaks for members of the Armed Forces.
The Stanhill Village fete is also taking place on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm at West End Primary School in Oswaldtwistle and will also be officially opened by Mayor Marlene Haworth.
Activities at the traditional fete will include a bouncy castle, a traditional coconut shy, beat the goalie, barbecue stalls and a music man.
Organisers will also be collecting funds for local charities at the fete.
