A charity fundraiser in memory of a former tarmacer will raise money for poverty relief charity Maundy Grange.
The event in honour of Jason Ball will be held at Tricky’s pub on Thwaites Road in Oswaldtwistle.
Jason died suddenly in 2009 aged 25 and Gavin Georghiou, who was his friend from Rhyddings High School, has teamed up with pal Matthew Hindle to organise it.
He said there will be lots of great activities to take part in.
Gavin added: “I want all his family and friends to come. It will be a great show of support and hopefully raise some money for Maundy Grange.
“He was well liked all over Hyndburn including Accrington, Oswaldtwistle, Huncoat and Fern Gore.
“It will be a fun day and we want it to become an annual event and are possibly looking at doing a boxing event for next year.
“I want to thank everybody that is helping do this memory of Jason.”
Family will attend the family fun event in tribute to Jason, of Towneley Avenue, Huncoat.
The fundraiser will feature a 30ft slide, a penalty shoot-out competition, raffles and an auction.
Two ponies have been donated for the day from Accrington Riding Centre and there will also be a live music band.
Prizes have been donated from businesses including Quick Wash and Gobbiner’s Cafe in Oswaldtwistle and Extreme Cleaning and Fitzy’s Hair Salon in Accrington.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 30 starting at noon.
