A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl has appealed for a thief to return her bicycle after it was stolen while she played out with friends at the weekend.

Little Jodie Eatough, of Danvers Street, Rishton, was given the Cool Kid bike as a birthday present in February.

But the youngster, a pupil at Rishton Methodist Primary School, had hardly ridden it because the family used to live in a terraced house and there was nowhere she could safely play.

Since moving to the house on Danvers Street, mum Michelle, 40, said that her daughter was always playing out with other children on her bike.

She said: "Jodie was still playing outside when the bike was stolen on Saturday. All the kids round here have bikes so she is a bit upset that her bike has now gone missing.

"I'm hoping someone will bring it back, I can't afford to fork out £60 for a new bike."

On the same day, another youngster had his bike stolen but that was recovered on Monday.

Jodie told the Observer: "I like riding my bike outside. I am upset that it has been stolen, it's one of my favourite things."

The pink bike has pink stabilisers and purple wheels. If anyone has any information about the incident they should contact Great Harwood Police on 353334.
