RESIDENTS in Oswaldtwistle can look forward to a series of environmental improvement projects to be launched this morning by the Prospects Foundation.

The foundation is holding an open day at the Tinker Brook Tree Nursery to celebrate its achievements at the site and to launch the Oswaldtwistle Action Plan.

The plan is the result of a six-month community appraisal piloted in the town, during which residents were asked to identify areas that needed improvements.

Visitors will also be able to look around the tree nursery, which was launched by the Prospects Foundation in partnership with the Green Concern charity.

Work at the site has included turning an overgrown piece of land into an organic food-growing site, growing over 3,000 trees from seed for local use and developing a nature trail.

The event starts at 11am.For more information, contact Shonagh Ingram on 380675.
