The Griffin's Head has been crowned Accrington Observer Pub Of The Year 2010.

The popular venue beat off competition from the Abbey and the Rose and Crown to claim the title, following visits to all three by our team of mystery drinkers. These pubs were selected by public vote between March 1 and April 11.

This process has been repeated by our 15 other local weekly newspapers and the Manchester Evening News, who have also now named their winners.

The 17 area champions will be pitted against each other in a public text vote to decide the overall winner of the CityLife Pub Of The Year 2010 crown. The champion will be announced during the week commencing May 10.
