Staff from Lancashire Care Foundation Trust in Accrington tackled the biggest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales as part of the National Three Peaks Challenge.

The team planned the hefty hike for several months to raise £2,100 for charity and climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon one after the other in an exhausting ascent with no stopovers.

Group member and community nurse Caroline Spencer, based at The Mount, described the journey as ‘a real team effort’. She said: “It took a lot of guts and determination.”
