A TEENAGER is hoping her good looks are enough to land her a place on the cover of a popular lads' magazine after beating off competition from thousands of other hopefuls.
Joanna Bower, of Windermere Drive, Rishton, has been shortlisted for the High Street Honeys competition in FHM magazine.
If successful in a readers' vote, the 18-year-old will see her dream come true as she will feature as the cover girl on a future issue and receive a cash prize.
Joanna, who lives with parents Judith and David, said: "I don't get embarrassed about it at all. I really enjoy modelling. I mostly want to do glamour work. I've wanted to do it since I was 12.
"I like being in front of the camera, it's a great buzz and it gives me a great feeling. My parents support me because they know it's what I really want to do. If I win it will be amazing because everyone has heard of FHM and my idol Jordan has been on the cover."
Joanna is about to start an English degree at the University of Central Lancashire and said she is not prepared to give up her education in favour of modelling just yet.
Her boyfriend Ashley Wright, 18, is also supporting Joanna's modelling career and is proud of what she has achieved so far. Joanna has previously had a double-page spread in Nutz magazine but said her sights are now set firmly on making it on to the cover of FHM.
