A charity event will take place at Rishton Conservative Club in aid of its organiser who recently passed away.
East Lancashire Hospice volunteer Brenda Musgrove died suddenly last month and over the years had raised more than £7,200 for the charity.
The event at the Conservative Club later this month was due to be her final fundraiser before taking a year off however she passed away at her home on August 13 aged 61.
Hospice volunteer and close friend Dot Burns said: “This event was going to Brenda’s last one before taking a break from fundraising and she was putting everything into it to make sure she retired with a bang.
“Now she sadly won’t be here to see it but everyone wants to make sure that the evening will be a fitting tribute to her.
“She was such a character and will be terribly missed by her family and friends.”
The charity evening will include performances by the folk music band The Houghton Weavers and Gavin Young.
There will also be a bowling competition held earlier in the day.
Kimberley Hall, East Lancashire Hospice fundraiser, said: “We hope that the events on the 20th September will be a huge success in memory of Brenda after all the effort she has put into this event and many others over the last few years.
“Brenda was a big personality and a force of nature in her fundraising and will certainly be missed by us all.”
Grandmother-of-four Brenda, from Accrington, first became involved with East Lancashire Hospice in 2011 when funds were needed to mend a leaking roof. From then on she vowed to continue raising money for the hospice.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 20 from 7pm and the bowling competition will start earlier at 10am.
All profits from the events will go to East Lancashire Hospice.
Entry into the bowling costs £4 and tickets for the evening are £10.
