Fans of Coronation Street were devastated when Hayley Cropper departed the show last year having been a regular character for over 15 years.
Played by Accrington-born actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, Hayley was the first transgender character to be introduced into a British soap opera.
For her performance as Hayley, Julie Hesmondhalgh won The British Soap Award and National Television Award both in 2014.
Since departing Coronation Street Julie has been involved in several plays on the London West End, and worked on the Channel 4 show Cucumber, part of three inter-connected series from Russel T. Davies.
