Labour victory celebration

Labour increase majority

All the results are now in and Labour have increased their majority from 25 to 26 seats.

Labour held onto all 9 of their seats but gained a seat from the Tories after Glen Harrison beat St Andrew’s councillor Marlene Haworth.

The Conservatives held onto Barnfield and Baxenden and UKIP didn’t make any gains.

The overall make-up of the council now looks like this:

Labour 26, Conservative 7 and UKIP 2

Well the results are coming in thick and fast now.

So far Labour have held hold of five seats and the Conservatives have held hold of one.

Labour will remain in overall control of the council.

Labour hold Hyndburn Council

And by virtue of that result, Labour now have an unassailable lead and will remain in control of Hyndburn Council.
