Party time for Labour!


Labour increase majority

All the results are now in and Labour have increased their majority from 25 to 26 seats.

Labour held onto all 9 of their seats but gained a seat from the Tories after Glen Harrison beat St Andrew’s councillor Marlene Haworth.

The Conservatives held onto Barnfield and Baxenden and UKIP didn’t make any gains.

The overall make-up of the council now looks like this:

Labour 26, Conservative 7 and UKIP 2

Labour councillor Noordad Aziz has held his Netherton ward seat in Great Harwood.

Labour have held control of Rishton with Jeff Scales replacing the departing Harry Grayson

Round-up

Well the results are coming in thick and fast now.

So far Labour have held hold of five seats and the Conservatives have held hold of one.

Labour will remain in overall control of the council.

Labour have held control of Church ward with Jean Battle replacing the departing Joan Smith.

The Labour results are pouring in now. Another Labour hold.

Labour hold Hyndburn Council

And by virtue of that result, Labour now have an unassailable lead and will remain in control of Hyndburn Council.

The Tories needed to win all 11 wards they were standing in to gain control of the council

Labour have remained in control of Overton ward in Great Harwood with Stephanie Haworth replacing the departing Kerry Molineux.

Patrick Short has won the Peel ward seat.

He will replace long-serving councillor Wendy Dwyer who has stepped down after 23 years.

Conservative group leader Tony Dobson has held his Barnfield seat after a strong Labour challenge by Jodie Travis.

He won by 47 votes.
