FORMER Coldstream Guardsman Mr Jack Bowers has died at his home in Milnshaw Gardens, Accrington, aged 75.

Mr Bowers also served with the Loyal Regiment and was an active member of both regimental associations.

He was proud to have been invited to the Queen's garden party though the Coldstream Guards Association.

Mr Bowers later worked at Platt Saco Lowell and was a former security guard and publican.

An avid traveller, he enjoyed football, family gatherings and music.

He leaves his wife Shirley, sons Wilson, Gary and Lee, daughters-in-law Janet, Debbie, Dorthe and Karen, grandchildren Rebecca, Kelly, Marc, Glen, Sebastian, Thomas and Daniel and nine great-grandchildren.

The Rev John Tranter will conduct a funeral service in All Saints Church, Clayton-le-Moors, on Monday before burial at Church and Clayton-le-Moors Cemetery.
