A YOUNG martial arts star was punching above his weight when he gained his junior black belt in mixed martial arts.
Daniel Ali, 10, is a student at Ali’s School of Mixed Martial Arts which learns a range of different styles.
He already holds a brown belt in ju-jitsu and has now taken his black belt after impressing examiners with his moves.
He lives on Richmond Hill Street, Accrington, with his mum Suzanne, her partner Muzasser Ali and his sister Nadia, who is one.
Suzanne said: "He works and trains very hard. He practises three to four times a week, but obviously he has to fit that in with other things including school.
"He has been doing it since he was six and he really loves it."
Instructor Ali Graff said: "We had our grading and he did really well. It is an excellent achievement for a youngster.
"He is very dedicated and has been coming for a number of years. We are very proud of him."
