Five motorised lawn mowers have been destroyed at a landscaping company.

Fire crews from Hyndburn were called to Nurture Landscapes on Park Road in Rishton and hose jets and 20 litres of foam to put out the blaze inside a large green house.

The fire destroyed five sit-on lawn mowers and severely damaged another.

It also caused damage to the greenhouse and the fibre glass rear canopy of a Ford Ranger.

Tony Spencer, watch manager at Hyndburn station, said: “The lawn mowers were awaiting servicing for over the winter.

“We are putting it down to an electrical fault on one of them and the fire then spread to the other five.”

Mr Spencer said the incident happened at around 11.30am on Wednesday, December 17 and staff at the company had evacuated by the time they arrived.
