HYNDBURN Council leader Ian Ormerod, who is on the mend following a minor stroke in December, has been ordered to rest for another month by his doctors before he can return to work.
Revealing his condition this week, Councillor Ormerod, who is 60, said: "My blood pressure is still too high and the doctor is trying out various remedies to bring it down.
"It needs to be stable before I can return to council duties, and so I am taking the doctors advice of walking for exercise and otherwise just taking it easy.
"I'm in relatively good spirits although I must admit I am getting bored! I would like to thank Councillor Jean Battle who is doing a sterling job in my absence."
