A group of ladies enjoying a night out are shown in this week’s top picture.

They were snapped by former Observer photographer Garth Dawson in the 1970s.

Garth said: “The picture shows a happy group of Huncoat ladies on an evening excursion.”

Our next photograph was taken at an Accrington pub in 1974.

Garth said: “They were regulars at the Royal Oak pub and they are all ready for a day outing.”

Our final picture shows Accrington Stanley playing against AFC Bournemouth at the former Peel Park ground in Accrington. It is not known when it was taken. Do you recognise any of the Huncoat ladies or the pub goers or remember where both groups were travelling to?

Why not let us know and send us your memories for our letters page?

We want to publish your old pictures.

They can be from any era right up to the 1990s.

Please bring them to our Market Hall office or email them to accringtonobserver@menmedia.co.uk and tell us why they are important to you.
