Shoppers queuing due to sugar rationing are shown in this weeks top picture.
They were snapped by former Observer photographer Garth Dawson at an Accrington store in August 1974.
Our next picture shows the Fish, Fruit and Rabbit shop on Washington Street in Accrington.
Garth said: “The picture was taken some time in the 1930s with Mr Street proudly showing his wares along with his family in front of the store.”
Our final photograph this week is an aerial shot of the Stanhill Ring spinning works at West End in Oswaldtwistle.
Garth said: “It was taken in the 1930s and was a very busy works which no longer exists.
“The street to the left joins Blackburn Road and a new housing estate replaced the mill in the 1990s.”
