This week’s top picture was taken in 1977 in Accrington town centre.

It was snapped by former Observer photographer Garth Dawson

He said: “It shows the St George’s Day parade walking along King Street to a church service.”

Our next photograph was also taken in 1977.

It shows youngsters at the former Hannah Street school in Accrington.

Garth said: “This school is now closed and pictured are members of one of the classes preparing for the May Day celebrations.”

Garth said: Our final photograph this week shows the owner of a model aeroplane at an air show in 1974.
