This week’s top picture was taken in 1977 in Accrington town centre.
It was snapped by former Observer photographer Garth Dawson
He said: “It shows the St George’s Day parade walking along King Street to a church service.”
Our next photograph was also taken in 1977.
It shows youngsters at the former Hannah Street school in Accrington.
Garth said: “This school is now closed and pictured are members of one of the classes preparing for the May Day celebrations.”
Garth said: Our final photograph this week shows the owner of a model aeroplane at an air show in 1974.
Do you recognises the people in the May Day celebrations or St George’s Day Parade or the man with the model aircraft?
Why not let us know and send us your memories for our letters page?
We want to publish your old pictures.
They can be from any era up to the 1990s. Please bring them to our Market Hall office or email them to email@example.com and tell us why they are important to you.
